Coach Doug Sams, along with assistant coaches Willem Carter and Patrick Hope have been working hard this summer and have the 13U Bulls playing their best baseball. The Bulls started their summer by playing in the Triple Crown McAnn Classic and the D1 Georgia State Championships. Although the boys didn’t come away with the hardware from these first two tournaments, they were very competitive, came away with some wins and improved every game.
This past weekend, the Bulls came away with the trophy in the Bring the Heat Shootout. They started the tournament strong with a 10-4 win over the Midway Wolverines, but then lost a heartbreaker to the Sharon Springs Spartans in the final minutes with a score of 10-9. They rebounded strong, however, and shut out the Brookwood Broncos 14-0 to make their way into the Championship Game. They once again met the Midway Wolverines and won a hard fought battle to win the Championship, beating the Wolverines 9-7.
These boys are playing hard and having a blast! Go 13U Bulls!
