Unfortunately, the Longhorns couldn’t keep the Cyclones off the board in the 3rdgiving up 3 runs, and the cyclones the 3-2 lead. A clutch rbi single by Holsten Hayes in the 4thknotted game at 3. However, in heartbreaking fashion the Cyclones managed a 2 out walkoff single to win the game in the bottom half of the final frame winning the game 4-3.

Unlike the first game of the day this was a one sided offensive onslaught by the Longhorns who managed to win the contest 14-0 on 10 hits with Towle Hosmer, Lucas Murphy, and Cole Negro each notching  2 hits and 2 RBI a piece. Hudson Nelson toed the rubber for the Longhorns hurling a no hit performance and sealing the Longhorns #2 Seed and first round bye headed into Sundays tournament play. Despite holding the Noles to just 3 hits some walks followed by those timely 3 hits, the Longhorns faced a 6-4 deficit headed into the bottom half of the inning. The comeback kids fought back scoring 4 runs on quality at bats from Hudson Nelson and Towle Hosmer and RBI singles by Fletcher Black, Julian Hendrix, and Lucas Murphy. In a sweltering 90 degree midsummer heat of Waleska the Longhorns had to dig deep on no rest in this back to back contest. The Cyclones jumped out to an early 9-0 lead as their bats blistered and everything seemed to drop. The Longhorns finally came alive in the 3rdand mounted a furious comeback scoring 6 runs on hits by Zack Ziolo, Fletcher Black, Julian Hendrix, and Julius Thomas. Unfortunately, the 3-inning championship contest and fired up Longhorns was cut short by an 80 minute time expiration.
