Alex Ross posts a PGA record low 57!

NYO is sad when a young player moves on from and stops playing one of our sports, but there can be many reasons for doing so.

Alex Ross was an excellent baseball player at NYO who stopped playing baseball here after age 10, to concentrate on golf. (Note his sisters continued to play and star in our fall basketball league).

On June 6, Alex Ross, a Pace Academy graduate who is playing golf at Davidson, set the all-time competitive golf record for a low score with a 57, at the Dogwood Invitational tournament at the Druid Hills course in Atlanta.  No golfer ever (Tiger Woods, no; Jack Nicklaus, no; Arnold Palmer, no-you get the point) has scored this low in a round of competitive golf tournament.

Alex, NYO forgives you and salutes your age 10 decision. We will follow your career with a rooting interest.
