The Holy Innocents girls’ basketball team capped an incredible season by capturing the class A state championship by beating Wesleyan by an impressive 75-48 score last week. This was a team for the ages for Georgia; they played the toughest competition at every level of play and across several states, on their way to their march through the state tournament.
On that team were 5 girls who started and advanced their basketball careers in the NYO girls basketball league; Ellie Crosswell; Caroline Berkey; Kate Reddy; Renee Davis; and Ansley Diaz. These 5 girls, some of whom started at the youngest age in our program (from rookie Eagles to WNBA Shock) and played through until they aged out, graced our courts for several years, enjoying successes, championships, and, most importantly, the challenges, competition, and game experience that make them champions today. NYO is proud of their achievements and how they have advanced their basketball experiences in high school, as excellent students, teammates, and now as championship players.
