NYO Cheer Registration

2025 Cheer

The NYO Cheer program is a fantastic complement to our football program in the fall. Our cheer squads consist of girls in grades K through 8th, and they cheer for teams in the NYO Football League. The Cheer season begins with a pre-season clinic. The program focuses not only on cheer, but also stunting and dance. In November, our cheer program hosts the NYO Cheer Off which is a friendly competition for our young ladies to show off their skills in team centered routines.

NYO Cheer

NYO CHEERLEADING

In conjunction with NYO’s mission, our cheer program emphasizes character development, sportsmanship, healthy competition, and positive coaching. NYO Cheer is an all-inclusive cheer league. Everybody within the grade/age limits for each division is eligible.

With the cheer program growing 100% year-over-year, we’ve taken feedback and looked at other, successful cheer leagues to implement a new structured division approach with three leagues, broken down by grade level. This will ensure an appropriate and consistent structure, so our youngest cheerleaders have earlier practice times and can learn the building blocks of cheerleading, while our oldest cheerleaders are truly being developed for high school cheerleading.

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

MISSION: In conjunction with NYO’s mission, our cheer program emphasizes character development, sportsmanship, healthy competition, and positive coaching. NYO Cheer is an all-inclusive cheer league

SEASON RUN DATES: August 2025 - November 2025

PROGRAM FOCUS: The NYO cheer program will be offered to children K-8th broken out by age. The program focuses not only on cheer, but also stunting, tumbling, and dance. Towards the beginning of November, our cheer program hosts the NYO Cheer Off, a friendly competition where our cheerleaders show off their skills in choreographed, team centered routines.

GOAL: Our goal is to provide the best opportunity for cheerleaders - both brand new and experienced - to build their skills and enjoy cheerleading through confidence building activities, positive leadership, and encouragement.

EXPECTATIONS: This is a sport and both practice and games are MANDATORY
